I just installed a software update last night -- the most recent one
from Apple and bind stopped working for me. I just have been
installing these updates automatically so I couldn't even state with
certainty which one it was. I suspect they have added some sort of
filtering to the network but I'm not sure what. I have not seen
anything on the list regarding the most recent update. I have had
small problems with Bind not starting with daemonic, but it would
always start manually previously to this update.

I'm using bind9 9.2.1-12. The reason I'm posting to the list is that
I'm worried that this is not simply an issue with bind, but with
Apple restricting ports on my machine, that will have a nasty effect
on a lot of software. Of course I'm not overlooking the possiblity
that I'm stupidly missing something obvious. I have my mac
configured locally with an ip of 192.168.1.5 and exposed to the
world through a dsl/cable router.
