Hello:

My setup:

OS X 10.2.3
X11.app beta3
fink 0.51, source installation of system-xfree86 (the newest version from unstable for compatibility with X11.app b3), and KDE 3.1.

I've searched the mailing list archives for all of the KDE & dcop related threads. I've tried setting PATH, etc. manually, and by sourcing init.sh from within .xinitrc. I've tried with and without authentication required in X11.app preferences. I've tried specifying 'xhost +', but all to no avail. dcopserver will not start, which is a showstopper for running anything KDE.

This is what happens:

bash-2.05a$ dcopserver
iceauth: /tmp/dcopcW9gC1:1: bad "add" command line
iceauth: /tmp/dcopcW9gC1:2: bad "add" command line
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed
ICE Connection rejected!

DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed
ICE Connection rejected!

DCOPServer self-test failed.
bash-2.05a$

I've compiled and packaged KDE-2.2.2 on Solaris 8 SPARC, so I'm well aware of the /tmp/.ICE-unix permissions issues. Here, though, I don't know what else to try. None of the typical X security tweaks seem to help, and Google has let me down as well...

Whoever else is successfully using this configuration, please let me know.
