This is a question about personal configuration rather than the package. I use Apple's X11. Whenever I fire KDE (startkde) I see KDE panel, but the background remains same as that of Apple's (no, the background isnt same in KDE configuration; when I change Apple's background, I see the change in KDE without changing its configuration). When I fire Gnome (gnome-session) its background covers the default Apple's background. I have set both Gnome and KDE to use the Apple's Window Manager "quartz-wm". I tried to fiddle around with some basic configuration scripts but it did not help. I have no idea why KDE is behaving like this, but does anyone know how can I get similar behaviour in Gnome.
The versions are Gnome 2.0, KDE 3.1, and fink updated from cvs.
Thanks, Shashwat
