I've had no luck with xmms so far. It won't play streams nor files, I
cannot select any output plugins because the menu won't pop up and
the application will crash everytime i click "OK" or "Apply" in the
preferences window.

The esound daemon is installed and works (esound & produces audible
output), the /private/tmp/.esd directory belongs to me and has rwx
for everyone.

Browsing the mailing list archives gave me no idea what else to try.
All the audio, audio-gnome, flac, flac-xmms and you-name-it plugins
are installed and up to date, but xmms won't change it's behaviour.

What can be wrong with my xmms installation so that none of the popup
menues in the preferences window won't pop up? I tried both Apple's
X11 and XDarwin, as I had a similiar problem with xcdroast, but to no
avail.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Klaus
