Well KDE is all up and running perfect now, killed Apples X11 since it doesnt quite work right with it, and redid my entire Fink installation using XDarwin 4.3 and its all quite happily moving along, although I do really miss the Quartz-wm, its great that my X11 apps now have their own taskbar and can display things like tray icons and such.
Now two questions: Ive got arts running, and KDE itself has sound and all that is fine. However, gaim doesnt. I have it set to either automatic or arts and it wont spit out those annoying messaging sounds.. I think I may have installed Gaim before I installed KDE (only installed the KDE binaries for 3.1.1 due to time constraints when I setup fink), so could this possibly be the problem? ESD wont work either so perhaps it has nothing to do with KDE. I do know that the previous 0.59 version of Gaim the sound did work quite fine. Now my second question, since I am no longer using Apple's X11 my fonts are all pretty crappy looking, like courier for everything. I have the applesystemfonts package installed, but I cant get it to install in the KDE Control Center. Tried adding it but it didnt do anything. Just need to know how to make this available to KDE. Do I have to actually copy the folder with the fonts from its fink /sw location to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts? Any help greatly appreciated.
