Yes there is a group of us working on this port.  A project has been opened up at sourceforge entitled Darwine.

This is incorrect.  Wine does not need a x86 processor, heh.  The core of wine is Unix.  The major hurdle's have been the mach-o format compared to ELF and the ppc cpu functions ( I belive).  Wine has been run under linuxPPC and has allready been succesfully compiled under Mac OS X.  A patch has been submitted to winehq by Pierre.  Currently the project is updating the mac os x code base to better reflect the recent changes in the wine cvs.

Once this project is stable there will be no need for x86 emulation! :-P
