I use minicom with the keyspan USB->Serial adapter on a white iBook, works 
great.  I just have to keep plugging it in to the same USB port each time (I 
think that it sees each USB port as a separate serial port with the 
adapter...maybe something with the way the driver works?).  Also have to tell 
setup (config mode of minicom) which port to go to when you first run it with 
the keyspan...use the keyspan's port utility to help you figure out which 
device file to point to under /dev.

Once you get it set up, minicom works well  :-)
