Thanks Jeff and Remi for your input. The -fno-common flag probably won't do anything to my f77 code, since I have eliminated all my common blocks. I did this so it would be easy to build dynamic shared libraries. It's somewhat ironic that my problem appears to be common blocks in libg2c.a.
