Apparently the issue is in giftd, which has a BuildDepend on imagemagick-nox rather than imagemagick | imagemagick-nox .
I can't think of a good reason for using the -nox but not the X-enabled version. However, since it's a build-time dependency rather than a runtime one, you may be able to swap in imagemagick-nox while you're building, and then put back (assuming you have it already) the X version.
