Just to put in my $.02, I can't count on a selfupdate connecting the first time or even the fifth time I try, but usually can connect later in the day or even early the next day. My updates usually aren't delayed by more than a day or so. I understand how the situation with SourceForge can be frustrating, though. I appreciate the efforts of the developers to keep fink as up to date as possible.
