Hello all,

I did the following:

$ fink install gnucash

After accepting the defaults for the packages I didn't have, it gives me a list of 155 (!!! HOLY CRAP they should really think about trimming these depencies down!).. Four hours later, somewhere in the build process, the make fails saying that I need to run "ranlib" on /sw/lib/libintl.a

So I did and now I reissued

$ fink install gnucash

1) When the make fails in the middle of the build process is the fink tree still in a valid state? I.e., will the packages that were already built/installed remain installed according to fink

2) Why did I need to run ranlib on libintl.a

Thanks,
Rick
