Going with my hunch, what output do you get when you type: `fink-virtual-pkgs' in a terminal window ?
Note, it will likely hang, and you'll have to hit control-C, but I'm interested to see where it hangs.
When that is done, try: sudo rm /sw/bin/fink-virtual-pkgs sudo dpkg -i /sw/fink/debs/fink_0.14.0_darwin-powerpc.deb
And see if fink works again.
