I installed fink 0.14 (in fact 0.14.1 beta) and tried it with rsync. When I am connected directly (now firewall, no proxy) it works. Behind the corporate firewall and proxy it does not:

sudo /sw/bin/fink selfupdate-rsync

Please note: the command 'fink selfupdate' should be used for routine
updating; you only need to use 'fink selfupdate-cvs' or 'fink
selfupdate-rsync' if you are changing your update method.

I will now run the rsync command to retrieve the latest package descriptions.

Updating unstable/main
su gedalin -c 'rsync -az --delete-after -v rsync://fink.opendarwin.org/finkinfo//10.2-gcc3.3/unstable/main/ finkinfo 10.2-gcc3.3/unstable/main/'
rsync: failed to connect to fink.opendarwin.org: Connection refused
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at /SourceCache/rsync/rsync-8/rsync/clientserver.c(85)
### execution of su failed, exit code 10
Failed: Updating unstable/main using rsync failed. Check the error messages above.

I have the latest 10.2.8 installed+latest developer tools (BTW, this worked with the previous version of fink and cvs). In the past similar problem interfered with cvs and I asked my sysadmin to open the port 2401 (is it correct ? was it is the same ?). Do I need to ask to open another port of whatever ?
