Am I the only one having a really hard time updating the fink packages with
cvs?

I'm using fink's cvs instead of apple's broken one, and for the past two days
I've been getting an error when I try to run the update. It returns with
errors like
update aborted: connect to cvs.sourceforge.net (566.35.250.207):2401 failed:
connection refused
or
the text in the attached file (I suspect the cause is the same, just a
different error).

Is there a problem with sourceforge's cvs servers, or is something corrupted
in my installation? I know the FAQ says that the connection error can happen
if the server is just loaded, but I've been trying several times over two
days...it's never given me errors this long...

I heard Microsoft improved the time it takes to reboot Windows XP.
I wonder why this is a touted feature?...hmm...

I will now run the cvs command to retrieve the latest package descriptions.
After that, the core packages will be updated right away; you should then
update the other packages using commands like 'fink update-all'.

cvs -z3 update -d -P
cvs [update aborted]: unrecognized auth response from cvs.sourceforge.net: M
PserverBackend::PserverBackend() Connect (Connection refused)
### execution of cvs failed, exit code 1
Failed: Updating using CVS failed. Check the error messages above.
