specifically the part that says "it is important to notice that files named *.f are by default assumed to be written in Fortran 77, and are not handled by G95. In order to compile such files with G95, one thus has to explicitly give -x f95, as in gfortran -c -x f95 bar.f." Just add "-x f95", or rename iconv8.f to inconv8.f90, and it will work fine. -Jeff On Tue, 14 Oct 2003, Daniel Macks wrote: > I just built the gfortran (20030825-1) package, but the resulting > binary doesn't work: > > % f95 -v icon8.f > Driving: f95 -v icon8.f -lgfortranbegin -lgfortran -lm > Reading specs from /sw/lib/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin6.8/3.5-tree-ssa/specs > Configured with: ../gcc/configure --prefix=/sw --enable-languages=f95 > --infodir=/sw/share/info --with-gmp=/sw > Thread model: posix > gcc version 3.5-tree-ssa 20030825 (merged 20030817) > f95: icon8.f: Fortran compiler not installed on this system > > Both those -l libs are in /sw/lib (.a and .la), dpkg reports that they > are indeed from the gfortran package, and adding -L/sw/lib didn't > help.
