Well after struggling with building the most current g77 3.4 package
on my G5 with fink 10.2-gcc3.3 rsync installed I have defined the problem
slightly. It must be a flaw in the current fink distribution itself.
If I avoid sourcing fink to be used and repeat the same exact build
steps using just MacOS X 10.2.8 and the Aug 2003 devtools I have no
problems completing the g77 build....
mkdir darwin
cd darwin
../gcc-3.4-20031015/configure --enable-languages=f77
--infodir='/Users/howarth/Desktop/testbuild//share/info'
make bootstrap-lean
If I source fink to be used, the manual g77 build fails just like the
package build does. Furthermore, if after I complete the non-fink
manual g77 build, I source fink and do a "make check-g77" I get
exactly the same results as on the testsuite gcc mailing list.
