I just installed the last build of Panther on my machine and tried to switch from X11 beta 3 to X11 1.0.
I updated my system-xfree86 from system-xfree86-42 to system-xfree86- 43, and packages that use X11 only works fine (xemacs,...)
Two things: With recent versions of fink (the program), you don't need any system-xfree86-* packages, remove them by force. They come back automatically as virtual packages.
sudo dpkg -r --force-depends system-xfree86
sudo dpkg -r --force-depends system-xfree86-43
i got this (?):

Any idea ?
Second: []So i decide to switch to pango-xft2 but got this: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo fink install pango1-xft2 Information about 2989 packages read in 3 seconds.
You are still using the 10.2 tree? If yes, you will have other problems soon. In particular, pango1-xft2-1.2.1-3 in the 10.2 tree is broken (and has been for a long time). The one from the 10.2-gcc3.3, version 1.2.1-4 is corrected.
How can i switch to 10;3 properly ? Already switched to rsync...
Do tou mean i have to edit fink package descriptions in /sw/fink/dists by myself ?
The following package will be installed or updated: pango1-xft2 The following 3 additional packages will be installed: pango1-xft2-shlibs xfree86 xfree86-shlibs Do you want to continue? [Y/n] n Failed: Dependencies not satisfied
I DONT want to replace my fresh install of X11 1.0 !
You don't have to, but you will have to replace your fink package descriptions.
