As I yesterday compiled the latest snapshot under MacOSX following Kevin instructions reported at <http://bfwiki.tellefsen.net/ index.php?pagename=CompilingUnderMacOSX>, I got a warning about gnome-vfs.
The problem is: bluefish lools for gnome-vfs version >= 2.0, but fink names it gnome-vfs2 (I don't know if this is the same, but otherwise it is Fink's gnome-vfs version < 2.0). So automatically, remote access is disabled.
Does anybody knows where the check occurs, so that I can try to change it?
I suppose you have Fink's gnome-vfs2 (or gnome-vfs2-ssl) Packages installed?
The check uses (just look inside the configure script) pkgconfig to find and configure for gnome-vfs-2.0. This works if you have the file /sw/lib/pkgconfig/gnome-vfs-2.0.pc which comes with the gnome-vfs2-dev or the gnome-vfs2-ssl-dev package.The gnome-vfs-2.0 package has been installed into /sw/lib/ and there is not /sw/lib/pkgconfig/gnome-vfs-2.0.pc. I'll guess I should have installed the bundle-gnome package?
If there were a Fink package for the snapshot you are trying to build, it would have, besides "Depends: gnome-vfs2-shlibs" and "BuildDepends: gnome-vfs2-dev" entries. Maybe this should be part of the do-it-yourself (or write-your-own-fink-package-description) instructions you are quoting.Yes, there was no fink package for the latest snapshot, that was my first successful attempt to build bluefish with do-it-yourself instructions.
I'll try first your suggestion, to see if the ...pc file comes out. I'm not skilled enough to reconfigure the whole thing myself.
