Jack: The latest version of OpenDarwin in CVS (http://opendarwin.org) is 6.6.2, and contains gcc 3.1 (as far as I can tell). I would love to have a g77 package built from the same source tree as apple's gcc 3.3. If anyone knows where to get the source code for apple's gcc 3.3, please let me know.
On the page http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/index.html they have darwin-7 sources and also sources for the August2003 dev tools updater. Dunno if this is usable.
OTOH, the gcc3.3 from the August updater still has the infamous
"section difference relocatable subtraction expression, "_foo" minus "L1$pb" using a symbol at the end of section will not produce an assembly time constant
"
bug, so that the corresponding g77 won't probably work either.
