I'm in the process of testing 10.3 on my Mac (I've installed it on a partition cloned from my main system). I'm also taking the opportunity to start fink (and all my other installs) over from scratch.
When I first reinstalled fink from fink-0.6.0-full.tar.gz, I got this error message at the end:
Copying the package description tree failed. This is no big harm; your Fink
installation should work nonetheless. You can add the package descriptions at
a later time if you want to compile packages yourself. You can get them from
CVS or by installing the packages-0.16.0.tar.gz tarball.
I believe I was able to fix this by way of selfupdate-cvs. Then I selected the same trees that I used as before in my /sw/etc/fink.conf:
Trees: local/main stable/main stable/crypto local/bootstrap unstable/main unstable/crypto
Is this correct? Do I need to change anything? Things appear to be working, but a lot of packages appear to be missing. Is this because I've misconfigured something, or do I simply need to wait a bit?
For example, I use tightvnc quite a bit, but it doesn't appear to be available to me. Is there any easy way to get this installed?
Thanks, Mike
