I have been using fink for about a year and I have never had any problems
with it until now. I just did a clean archived install of Panther (10.3)
and I did not really care about any of the things that were installed from
fink because I knew that I could always just reinstall them and it would not
be that big of a deal. So I installed panther and I have now spent several
days trying to figure out how to install things from fink. I just keep
getting the message "Failed: Problem resolving dependencies. Check for
circular dependencies.". However, I have installed x11 from apple along
with xcode. When I installed panther I installed everything that I could
from the cd. My question is, how do I fix this so that I can reinstall kde
and other programs that I used a lot of. Please help. I am running panther
on a Ti powerbook, with a clean install.
If by "clean install" you mean 0.5.3, it will not work.
For now, the best way to get a clean install is to download the fink-0.6.0.tar.gz package from http://sf.net/projects/fink/ and run "./bootstrap.sh" to bootstrap your fink installation.
There are known issues with upgrading to the 10.3 tree from the 0.5.3 release (which was made for 10.2).
