[Fink-users] What's the recommended perl version?

I upgraded to Panther and Fink 10.3 dist without any real problems. I 
can't believe I have made 3 major upgrades of OSX in about 17 months!  
This was  my smoothest upgrade as far as Fink is concerned, and I want 
to commend all the Fink developers and maintainers for a job well done. 
 Yah, I know there has been the usual fiascos, but most of those were 
caused by people who don't read directions!  I also want to commend the 
pioneers that started installing on Oct. 24th as I avoided some of the 
pitfalls by reading about their experiences.

I wrote to ask what version of perl do most of the Fink people 
recommend now that Panther has come out.  Has any one used Apple's new 
version?  Should I use Fink's 5.8, or stick with Fink's 5.6?  I have 
been using 5.6 with no problems.  Any feedback on these questions would 
be sincerely appreciated.  Thanks.
