Hello all, Recently I ran across a post to this group in which a new MacOS 10.3 (Panther) user was having trouble running imapd (IMAP server).
I had the same problem, but was able go fix it by compiling imapd with PAM support. I posted a more elaborate solution to comp.sys.mac.system, and the thread is here: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=6753af20.0311030001.54d09d34%40posting.google.com&rnum=2&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dpanther%2Bimapd%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26selm%3D6753af20.0311030001.54d09d34%2540posting.google.com%26rnum%3D2 Wow, that's a serious URL. If you search for "Panther imapd" in google groups (or the news group at other sites) you'll see it. I wanted to cross-post here in case others were still looking for this fix. On a similar subjet, I was able to make Postfix relay mail to my ISP's mail server with Auth.-SMTP (SASL). My Panther box is now a complete mail server for my Windows boxes (sorry about the naughty word). If anybody would like to see the config.s for that, I can post them.
