Thats right: December 2002 CD, then August 2003 update, then "fink
selfupdate"

You will wind up rebuilding a good number of packages--Fink knows which ones
need rebuilding, so you can do this via the normal "fink update..." or "fink
update-all".

Subject: [Fink-users] Upgrade to GCC 3.3: rebuild necessary ?

Just downloaded both the Dec2002 Dev. CD and the Aug2003 GCC Update.
Surely this will be the last Jag. update I do before going the Panther
way early next year.

Just wanted to confirm that all that needs be done to upgrade to GCC
3.3 is install the Dev. CD and the Update, then do a fink selfupdate,
preferably via rsync (I was using CVS up til now) ?

Also, once fink is done selfupdating itself, should I or must I rebuild
all the packages I have installed so far ? I have been using source
from the start.

Thanks,

J. Courcoul
