This is the "trailing slash" or "mv" bug. In Panther in some cases the mv command appears to not be able to handle trailing slashes. This is not well understood and is currently being discussed in fink-devel.


Fortunately, a work-around for aalib was posted. Just do a "fink update-all" to get the new package and try building it again.
