All,

Sorry for the dramatic subject, but I've tried a couple of quiet requests for help and
no-one bit.

I upgraded my developer tools using the August update - I now seem to have a gcc 3.3
system.

I upgraded fink (source) using the standard fink selfupdate route.

Now I can't update lots of things because I can't get guile to compile and all the kde
stuff keeps failing because of an apparent freetype library problem.

guile failes with the following error message

ld: Undefined symbols:
_lt_dlpreload_default

The freetype problem may or may not relate to a suspicion I have that the version of
qt3 available in stable under 10.2-gcc3 is not the same as the one in 10.3.

Anyone have any suggestions (other than 'upgrade to panther' which is a distinct
possibility)

Later,

Andy
