Hi,

just as an update:
I forgot to mention that I was talking about lyx-qt version 1.3.3-3 (unstable).
On my other G4 (same Jaguar 10.2.8 as in my previous message) lyx-qt
after the same update procedure is working fine - when I have time I'll look
for diffs in the config logs - but the fonts seem to give me the same messages
in the functional installation compared to the one reported below.
For the broken installation on my other computer, I reverted back to the first
lyx-qt package which had no problems.

Still, I do whish I could turn of anti-aliasing in qt2...

Hi,

after a selfupdate and update-all last night (with Jaguar), the lyx-qt
package isn't working the way it used to before. I am using Apple's X11 on
my Ti notebook.

I had been using lyx-qt extensively, but without anti-aliasing.
Suddenly anti-aliasing is turned on under lyx-qt, and this comes with
messed-up screen fonts. In the configure process, lyx doesn't complain
about any missing fonts, but whenever I type math symbols they are taken
from some symbol font with completely unrelated glyphs.
Maybe there IS something wrong with the font paths, because the lyx
configuration reports, e.g.,
checking [for cmex10]... yes (pfb)
and I wonder if this should be ttf instead of pfb. Any ideas?

This has been noted before in conjunction with anti-aliasing under QT2,
but I found no way to turn off anti-aliasing. Also, putting LaTeX TTF
fonts in my X11 directory didn't seem to help. With the current font
mixups, lyx-qt is unusable right now.
I don't really like anti-aliasing anyway, so if there is a way to turn it
off that would be great. There is supposed to be a command qtconfig that
allows you to turn this off, but it doesn't come with fink's qt2
installation.
