XDarwin.app won't work from the console, but "startx" will (which will get
you what you want).
Oh, thanks, I was always looking for that trick. Problem is I can start X and it works but I cannot logout except via force quit. Any workarounds?
I am not using Apple's X11 though, but xfree86.4.3.0-16 from fink on 10.2.8.
