I downloaded gaim-0.74.tar.bz2 from http://distfiles.opendarwin.org/. What must be done to get fink to install this? I downloaded this directly because I'm unable to get the 0.74 info/path files (see other posts).
I strongly suggest that you fix your installation first so that it sees the gaim-0.74-1 package descriptions. Things to check:
- Is your /sw/fink/dists a symlink to 10.2-gcc3.3 as it should be? ("ls -l /sw/fink")
- Is your "Distribution:" line in /sw/etc/fink.conf set to 10.2-gcc3.3 as it should be?
- If the answer to one of these questions in no, is your compiler set to gcc3.3? ("gcc --version" or "gcc_select")
- Do you have unstable enabled?
The gaim-0.74 package description has been in 10.2-gcc3.3/unstable since 3 weeks, slow servers cannot be the reason why you don't see it.
