Thank you for your efforts. If I'm the only one interested in using vsftpd (which is an excellent FTP server) then I can wait for the author's next major release (hopefully it won't be too long). I'll continue using vsftpd on Mandrake Linux for now and wait for it to be added to Fink in the future.

I have spoken to the Author and his build system will not be changed
until the next major release. If you still need this package I will hard
patch his build system and put a version of vsftpd into Fink. Please let
