G'day Mike,

One caveat: just make sure you use the 'proper' rsync, and not the hfs 
version.  I screwed my /sw up by (inadvertently) using the hfs version 
(duh).

I did clone /sw from a laptop to an iMac with rsync. No problems
I can see, so far.
