I am new to Fink but have done what bug reports I am able to. I am running the 10.3 unstable but have had very few problems. I would not have bought a mac if it were not for Fink. I would gladly donate money to help fink. This is a project that is worthy of my time and money.
I would like to suggest you look at WikiPedia for advice on how to run a non-profit organization. I am sure you all have heard of the site but perhaps you don't know how big it has gotten. They are approaching the top 500 site on the web, bigger than slashdot, etc: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?&range=1y&size=medium&url=http://wikipedia.org#top They are a non-profit. They recently ran into financial trouble a month or two ago and did a pledge drive and raised > $20,000 USD (front-page of Slashdot probably helped that number). I would guess there is a good chance someone in the upper reigns of Wikipedia uses Fink and would be pleased to offer some advice.
