it's me again, sorry. I have upgraded to 10.3 and now fink thinks that
to install emacs21 it ahs to install xfree86. I think that it does not
recognise the system-installed apple X11. However it thinks also that it
has installed system-xfree86 (is this the apple one?), but cannot use it
to satisfy dependencies. Please help! Fed
rm -fr /sw and start over :-)
Perhaps more helpfully, delete all the old "virtual" packages, like system-*. They prevent the new "built-in" ones from kicking in. See /sw/lib/perl5/Fink/VirtPackage.pm for the list of packages you will definitely want to get rid of if you have them installed (xfree, jdk, kernel, ...).
