I have system 10.2, and fink 0.5.4. I had 0.5.3, but when I ran "selfupdate" it only updated to 0.5.4, which it claims is the latest release, whereas the website says 0.6.3 should be the latest for 10.2.
You need to have "10.2-gcc3.3" instead of "10.2" both in the "Distribution:" line in your /sw/etc/fink.conf and as the source of the /sw/fink/dist symlink. You get this automatically when you have the gcc-3.3 compiler installed. I don't know how this works if you don't have the developer tools installed, but you can always set these two values by hand.
