I am having trouble getting the Python bindings for libxml2 working.
I have Python (python23, python23-shlibs, python23-socket) 1:2.3.3-23 and libxml2 (libxml2-bin, libxml2-shlibs, libxslt, libxslt-shlibs) 2.6.7-1; all of them installed by Fink (using apt-get).
Attempting to import libxml2 into Python just brings up an ImportError, alerting me to the apparent absence of the Python bindings. I have attempted to setup the bindings myself using the libxml2-python -2.6.4 module distribution from http://www.xmlsoft.org/python.html but this doesn't succeed and quits with many errors.
I have found no helpful documentation on the web about it which leads me to think it may be an oversight on my behalf.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
