For the sake of the archives, here's this:

I tried installing ghostscript, and still the problem was the same. I noticed that fink told me that guppi16 was out of date, even though gnome-print was current, so last night I just decided to run an update-all from source. This morning I saw that the process had failed when compiling gtkhtml -- I needed the more current version of Gnome Application Libraries (last few lines of output are the following)

***************************
checking for Gnome App libraries (GAL) >= 0.20.1.99... 0.19.2 found
configure: error:
""
"You need Gnome App libraries (GAL) 0.20.1.99 or later to build gtkhtml."
### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 1
Failed: compiling gtkhtml1.1-1.1.7-12 failed
[dignan:~] kbgrimes%
****************************

HOWEVER, upon restarting gnucash and trying the reports function again, it worked beautifully. I suppose something (not sure what) crucial was indeed successfully rebuilt.

ciao

I can't find the default fonts needed by Guppi.
In 99% of all cases, this means that there is a problem with
your installed version of gnome-print.

I checked fink, and I have gnome-print 0.36-11 installed, which I think is the latest version --

Hmm, try installing ghostscript - `sudo apt-get install ghostscript' and see if that fixes it.

Thanks.
