I ran fink selfupdate a few minutes ago, and noticed that libpng3 was chnaged back to version 1.2.5. I also have emacs21-gtk and gnome-themes-panther installed, and this new/old version of libpng3 is incompatible with one or both of those packages--when I launched emacs, *every* time I moved my mouse a tiny bit or tried to open a menu, xterm filled with dozens of error messages, making it virtually impossible to do anything. I used dpkg to reinstall libpng3 1.2.6, and all is working normally.
