Someone also forwarded a link to http://gimp-app.sourceforge.net/ where you can download and install a GIMP2 disk image. As long as you have X installed, it should work.

I have just commited a new version of gimp2 to unstable which should correct this problem.


You will have to either use "fink update-all" or list all the gimp2- packages you are upgrading, or it will trigger an unavoidable bug in dpkg: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=217862
