after my recent update-all, I have imagemagick-6.0.8.1 installed. I noticed that convert and other operations within the "display" GUI don't work when imagemagick-dev-6.0.8.1 isn't installed. I had removed imagemagick-dev, but once I reinstalled it the convert utility works again. So if imagemagick is supposed to replace imagemagick-dev (as I gather from the imagemagick.info file), there must be some files that need to be added to the imagemagick-package (I guess)... Or (as with pstoedit) imagemagick-dev should be a dependency of imagemagick (but that's probably not the natural thing to do).
