I've seen scattered reports of this problem. Is it consistent, or does cvs only fail in this manner sometimes? For some people, installing the fink "cvs" package (instead of relying on Apple's cvs) solves it. But more fundamentally, is there a reason you're using CVS at all? Unless you have a reason to use CVS, rsync is preferred.
