Hi. Apologies if this has already been addressed; I've found a similar query at http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ msg16096.html but not solution.

In an effort to stay up-to-date I recently ran fink selfupdate and then fink update-all; the update-all is failing because of problems with compress-zlib-pm581 (fails test scripts). I am running perl 5.8.4. My question is, how might I fix this so that it will compile, or barring that, is there any way to tell fink to ignore it for the time being so I can update the rest of my packages?

How about providing a specific message?

I see that in the list of packages update-all has queued there are versions of compress-zlib for perl 5.6.0 and 5.8.1; it's the 5.8.1 installation that's failing. I'd imagine it is redundant having both of these.

Is the -560 variant installed? Try removing it.

I'm sorry if this is not too specific. If anyone has some idea what I might need to do, please let me know if there is any other information I can provide. I'd really appreciate it, then we can get our system back in the workflow here. Thanks a lot.
