As gftp is not available in fink binary , anyone recommend a good OSS
ftp client that is available in binary ?

For binary-avail GUI FTP clients, I'm a big fan of "OS X Finder" and Mozilla (latest version .dmg is on mozilla.org). For CLI, I use ftp and curl.
Thank you Dan .

This is FTP to another Mac OS X box on the local network. "OS X Finder" seems not to want to upload files . Firefox never stops spinning , never lists the directory . CLI works fine , though that first and only "229 Entering Extended Passive Mode (|||49788|)" can take a real-life minute .

Gftp has many features, so a "good alternative" really depends on what
features are most important. GUI? Multiple/batch/wildcard operations?
Resume interrupted transfer? HTTP or various secure protocol support?

GUI + nested file transfer. I have now found and tried AxY_FTP . Default of beep is evil . It works well enough though I would like my gFTP ;-)
