Whenever curl can't find a file now, I just choose [5] and skip the other options. That seems to work consistently, and nothing else does; I had the same problem with base-files, and [5] worked fine.

I am having a problem when I try fink selfupdate:...

The following package will be installed or updated:
base-files
curl -f -L -O http://distfiles.sfo.ca.us.finkmirrors.net/base-files-1.9.3.tar.gz...
curl: (22) The requested file was not found...

(1) Give up
(2) Retry the same mirror
(3) Retry another mirror from your country
(4) Retry another mirror
(5) Retry using next mirror set "Custom Mirror"
