I have seen it, and wondered how to correct it. I tried a bunch of
symlinks (symlinking all of the libxvid's to libxvidcore.so in
succession, trying to encode after each one), but to no avail. I was
able only to generate different error messages (something to do with
the fact that the "libxvidcore.so" - which of course actually pointed
to some .dylib or .a - found wasn't correctly formatted - go figure).

Yes, in the meantime I tried things similar to that as well. I even tried to check the source and changed things there. I haven't figured out yet though how to change it so that xvidcore is actually found. I will try to contact the transcode people and see what they think about this.

Hey, I'm experiencing the same problem. Any news about that? or maybe even a later transcode-package on the way? I would really like to help out as a node in dvd::rip but so far can't help as long as xvid is used.
