Hi, I was in the middle of a successful install on my
new OS (Mac 10.3), when the system went down. When I
tried to re-install, it sent me a message that it
couldn't install on this computer because "a root
directory /sw exists."

My question: Can I un-install, then re-install? This
doesn't seem to be an option. Also, I ran pathsetup,
and it says my system is set up properly to download.

Thanks for your help. Z

Sorry, no. Fink's installer isn't that sophisticated. You need to run

sudo rm -rf /sw

in a terminal window, then reinstall it.

And pathsetup just checks that the appropriate startup script is set up to read in the Fink environment.
