Sorry for my previous message (subject: mail comite), I made a
mistake trying to bounce back to the mailing list the mail below
(which I could not send from work as my IP seems not to be
accepted for posting on the list).
My problem was :
I had posted some time ago to report a problem with mozilla:
it does not display bold fonts as bold (or seem to display all
text as bold, I have trouble telling).
On the suggestion of another user, I switched to using konqueror,
which did not present the same problem. I think the version I installed
was the binary version of package kdebase3-ssl, but am not sure.
Since then I have made some installs, which did not seem to change
anything, and last night I ran 'fink install kdebase3'.
(I realize just now I made a mistake in installing kdebase3 instead
of kdebase3-ssl). Since then, konqueror does not make a difference
between bold and non-bold fonts anymore, exactly as mozilla
(no need to say this has not improved mozilla's behaviour...)
What is very strange, is that when I ask fink to list kdebase3 related
packages, I get the following:
[Berlin ~/bordel]$ fink list kdebase3
Information about 4511 packages read in 14 seconds.
kdebase3 3.3.2-21 KDE - base system
kdebase3-dev 3.3.2-21 KDE - base development headers and libraries
kdebase3-shlibs 3.3.2-21 KDE - base shared libraries
(i) kdebase3-ssl 3.3.2-21 KDE - base system (with SSL)
kdebase3-ssl... 3.3.2-21 KDE - base development headers and libraries
(i) kdebase3-ssl... 3.3.2-21 KDE - base shared libraries
this seems to imply that kdebase3 was not installed, although I am
quite sure I ran 'sudo fink install kdebase3' (I can find this
command in my history), and it completed with no error.
If anyone is interested, I have posted my list of installed packages
at some time after my problem with mozilla and before the problem
with konqueror, as well as my current list of installed packages,
