Hello,

while doing a fink update-all, I got a dependency problem, fink told me
to try:

root# fink build gconf

Then I got the following error:

checking for oaf-config... /sw/bin/oaf-config
checking for OAF - version >= 0.2.0... no

This looks like the problem we have discussed over the past few weeks in a long thread "gconf-1.0.9-22 build failure" on this same list. The reason was found to be a manually installed cctools-528 package which contains broken tools. The remedy was to reinstall the Xcode tools (1.5 plus Nov2004 updater).

It seems Apple is experimenting with new versions of ld and dyld, and some versions that have escaped to the wild are severely broken (how broken the one in Tiger will be, we shall see...)
