I had the following failure while trying to build inkscape. I have fink selfupdated and built the package again, but I am still getting the same failure. Does anyone have any ideas?
/sw/lib/libiconv.dylib(localcharset.o) definition of _locale_charset
/sw/lib/libintl.dylib(localcharset.lo) definition of _locale_charset
ld: Undefined symbols:
typeinfo for Atk::Implementor

Could you try something else, please: Downgrade your fink to an older version, for example the one in stable:

  fink install fink-0.23.6-11

This should not take long, and you can easily get back to the newest version via "fink update fink".

With this older version, retry your compilation of inkscape.

If this works, we are much closer to understanding the origin of the problem.

If you are a little more adventurous, you don't need to downgrade fink, but you can edit (as root) the file

/sw/lib/perl5/Fink/PkgVersion.pm

Look for the string "-fabi-version=1" and replace it by the empty string "".

Then try the compilations.

I did not find the "-fabi-version=1" string in PkgVersion.pm, so I installed the stable version of fink you recommended. Then I was able to build inkscape with no problem, so there must be something wrong with the newest unstable fink (24.3 I think).
