As you have noticed, this kind of error, while somewhat annoying, is very benign: it resolves itself when the last command is simply executed once more. In addition, the suggestion given in the error message actually works in this case :-) So it seems that there is no urgent measure to take while waiting that the permanent solution can be constructed that Daniel has explained.
