hello, i moved to europe recently and hadn't updated fink in a while...
now when i try to update it always times out... i have tried many times

be?
here is the verison i am running:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] fink --version /Users/albers/sysadmin/manuals 1 Package manager version: 0.23.3 Distribution version: 0.7.1.cvs
here is the problem:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] fink selfupdate /Users/albers/sysadmin/manuals 1
I will now run the cvs command to retrieve the latest package
descriptions. The 'su' command will be used to run the cvs command as the
user 'albers'. After that, the core
packages will be updated right away; you should then update the other
packages using commands like 'fink update-all'.
/usr/bin/su albers -c 'cvs -q -z3 update -d -P' cvs [update aborted]: connect to cvs.sourceforge.net:2401 failed: Operation timed out ### execution of /usr/bin/su failed, exit code 1 Failed: Updating using CVS failed. Check the error messages above.
thanks, dave
That looks more or less like the normal "server busy" behavior.
My best recommendation is to switch to rsync unless you have a good reason not to.
